Disha Das

Disha Das joined JAMaROO Kids in the Summer of 2025 as a San Francisco based teacher and graphic designer with a degree in Animation and VFX from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco.

From an early age, Disha immersed herself in the performing and visual arts, cultivating a deep appreciation for creative expression. Her journey as a dancer led her to explore Bollywood, contemporary, and freestyle hip-hop, while her love of music inspired her to learn guitar, ukulele, and the classical Indian harmonium. Alongside the arts, Disha was also drawn to spirituality, developing a mindfulness practice through yoga that continues to guide her outlook on life. 

Disha has hands-on experience caring for young children through babysitting and supporting her younger siblings. While in college, Disha discovered a passion for children’s animation, which sparked her desire to combine artistry with teaching. Today, Disha enjoys guiding kids through fun, educational activities like art, storytelling, and music, while encouraging curiosity and confidence.

When Disha isn’t teaching she can often be found practicing yoga, singing, dancing, or experimenting in the kitchen with flavorful Indian recipes. In her free time, she also enjoys reading mystery novels, listening to rock music, and discovering new restaurants throughout the Bay Area. 

When Disha was asked what she loves about teaching for JAMaROO Kids and working with children, she responded with, “I enjoy channeling my creativity and enthusiasm into nurturing young imaginations! I believe every child has a story to tell and love helping them share it through music, art, and imagination.” 

Fun Facts: Disha is an avid traveler who believes in the power of exploring the world. She has visited more than 20 countries, and draws inspiration from every culture and experience she encounters.
