JAMaROO Kids

In 2001 Jamaica Stevens, Founder and Executive Director of JAMaROO Kids (formally known as Discovering the Joy of Dance) decided to combine her knowledge of Child Development with her passion for dancing, music, and teaching to create an introduction to creative movement and dance class for Pre-school aged children. In 2004 she left her position at ABC Academy Pre-school as head teacher to expand this program and teach Enrichment classes full time. Soon after Jamaica left ABC Academy, she developed music classes in addition to her dance and movement classes. The more classes that Jamaica taught the more she began to realize that there was a need for more enrichment teachers and quality enrichment programs in the Bay Area. In 2006 Jamaica developed JAMaROO Kids to address this need.

Jamaica is currently working with other educators creating more enrichment programs, including story telling, and language programs. JAMaROO Kids Now offers Music, Yoga, JAMaROO Time, and Dance and creative movement classes. JAMaROO kids offers these enrichment programs at over 20 different schools and family daycares in Marin County. JAMaROO Kids also offers entertainment services for special Events, children parties, and play groups.
